by Robert Craig-Wallace
an original etching, signed in pencil below the plate, showing the four-masted barque 'Viking' in a busy port setting (possibly Glasgow).
mounted and framed. image size 39x29cm. overall size 53x61cm. a few spots of foxing, otherwise in very good condition.
large heavy item that will require extra shipping costs for most overseas destinations [it can be shipped unmounted and framed to reduce costs]
the steel hulled barque 'Viking' was built by Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen in 1907.
For many years she was part of the Erikson fleet of Mariehamn, before being sold in 1950 to become a stationary school ship and latterly a museum ship.
This etching probably dates from ca.1920's
