Bound, apparently as a publisher's binding, in brown morocco, lettered in gilt to front board. Single decorative end-paper appears four times.
Dated 1903 to foot of title-page. all edges gilt.
Colour illustration of the tailor sitting on cotton thread reel, that was to appear as the front cover panel on published copies, inserted between dedication and frontispiece.
