a strange little book, written in the form of dialogues between imaginary persons, "whose movements and conversations are designed to engage the interest of the reader....".
it does however contain much useful information on the fishing boats and fishing industry of the mid-19th century, particularly in relation to the southern part of the east coast of Scotland.
with a folding plate showing the rigging of a deck-welled fishing boat, another double-page showing deck and elevation plans.
