very good condition in the original full black roan leather binding, ruled and lettered in gilt.  a little rubbing to the leather and a very small patch of worm damage to the front board.

 

the text contains all the speeches, toasts, etc., including an interesting speech by Sir Alfred Yarrow, the recipient of the dinner, describing the early history of the firm. 

Opposite each text page is a photograph illustrating the vessels and engines built by Yarrows between 1866 and 1916.

 a blank page at the end of the volume contains a colour lithograph depicting a bulldog sitting on a warship's gun barrel, with the caption "While England Sleeps"
