being figures and descriptions of the species and varieties of ferns found in the United Kingdom. nature-printed by Henry Bradbury
Moore, Thomas
London, Bradbury and Evans, 1863.
2 volumes. tall 8vo [25x17cm]. a lovely bright condition set in the original red cloth gilt bindings and complete with all 122 colour nature-printed plates. a hint of foxing to title-pages. foxing to final plate and light foxing to page edges. occasional faint foxing marks to plate surrounds or tissue guards. otherwise internally very clean and fresh.
Unfortunately with the curse of the 19th century gutta-percha bindings - the page backing has dried out and the pages are beginning to work loose.
