an interesting collection consisting of twelve items of correspondence mostly from the Victualling Office and Navy Office to Rear-Admiral Ferrier, dating from March to September 1812.

The subject of the correspondence mainly relates to the supply of water casks and other victualling requirements to the North Sea fleet in Hosely [[Hollesley] Bay, Suffolk during the blockades of the Dutch coast.

Ferrier was Flag Officer to the fleet, with his flag hoisted on HMS Bellorophon ['Billy Ruffian']
