a good crisp copy, finely bound by Baynton in half levant morocco over marbled paper boards. lightly mellowed to the spine

neat repair to top of title-page, presumably carried out when the book was rebound

some light off-set from the plates, more severe from plate 6, and there are a few old (ink?) marks to the lower margin on two pages, which also show through fainter on the adjacent pages

Otherwise, apart from a few light foxing marks, the book is internally clean and fresh

bound in at the end is a 1799 four-page catalogue of Charts, Pilots and Navigation books sold by Heather & Williams at their Leadenhall Street warehouse
