by M. Martin, Gent.
London, printed for Andrew Bell....., [1703].
1st edition. pp[xxxi] 392. folding map and one other folding engraved plate.
a little marking, but generally in good clean condition in an 18th-century panelled calf binding with an attractive later spine.
early scoring out of owner's name to top of title-page. folding map complete, but with extensive paper repairs to the underside (not recent). closed tear to the folding plate, with archival tape repair.
something of a curiosity and possibly the true 'first edition'.
The printed date to the foot of the title-page reads '1073' instead of '1703'.
An early owner seems to have thought that this was meant to read '1673' and attempted to alter the '0' to a '6'.
I haven't been able to find any other record of this publication date mis-print.
