a printed testimonial on photographic paper, dated April 21st 1885, presented to Captain J.E. Withers of the British India steamship "Quetta" by grateful passengers, to mark the safe arrival in Plymouth Sound at the conclusion of a voyage from Brisbane.

In addition to their grateful thanks, the passengers presented a purse of sovereigns to be donated to Agnes Weston's sailors' mission.

the testimonial incorporates a photograph of the ship, and is signed by eleven passengers. also included is a hand-written concert programme from the voyage.

Although this voyage passed without incident, five years later the "Quetta" was wrecked in the Torres Strait off northern Queensland, with the loss of 134 lives.
