a good late 19th century First Officer's sailing ship log book, recording a voyage from Cardiff to Acapulco in Mexico, and on to Port Townsend (Washington), Buenos Ayres, Hampton Roads, Baltimore, and finally towards San Francisco.

There is good detail about weather conditions, including violent storms around Cape Horn, and notes on the crew, port work, etc.

The 'Indiana' was built in Bath in 1876 and enjoyed a long career through to 1925, mainly operating in the Acapulco, San Francisco and the Oregon and Washington trade, and ending her days in the movies having been purchased from the breakers by the De Mille corporation.

The printed preliminary pages include instructions for resuscitating the apparently drowned, collision regulations, pilot signals, management of open boats in a surf, etc.
