this part of the log finishes with the ship off North Carolina.

written in pencil, with position, courses steered, wind strength and direction, etc., weather observations and comments on sails set, etc., and names of lookouts.

the sailing ship 'Tusitala' was built in Greenock by Robert Steele & Co.Ltd. in 1883 as the 'Inveruglas'.

she was renamed 'Tusitala' in 1923 and at the time of this voyage was owned by the Argonaut Steamship Line. she was to become the last American flagged fully rigged merchant ship in deep sea routes, and was finally broken up in 1947.
