a near complete collection of thirty-three volumes London, Hunt & Co. 1852-1886.33 volumes. most volumes in the publisher's blue cloth gilt bindings, with a few in half leather.
condition of the bindings is variable, with some spine damage, one binding loose, and one or two affected by damp. please see the image.
generally internal condition is good and clean, though again a few volumes are affected by foxing or staining, and the hinges are rather strained in some volumes.
an opportunity to buy a very nearly complete collection of this important Victorian yachting magazine at a reasonable price, taking into account overall condition.
Three volumes are missing - 3, 15 and 36 (the final volume).
The magazine was issued monthly, and these are all yearly volumes.
Most volumes were illustrated with a few plain, tinted, and in one volume, coloured, lithograph plates, plus folding plates of yacht designs, wreck charts, etc.
Some of the volumes contain a printed list of the plates, and in these cases all the plates and charts are present as called for.
There is no reason to suppose that any of the plates are missing from the other volumes, but this can not be guaranteed.
