rather shaky with glue repair to hinges. binding worn and lightly stained, but no significant damage. heavy foxing to some of the plates.
lacks the plate of the 'Robert F. Stockton' (photo-copy inserted)
quite an important book in the history of steamship literature, being the first attempt to outline both a chronological history together with an appraisal of the merit of each inventor's work.
